How to Pick the Right Cloud

Switching to the cloud is becoming a very popular move in the business world. From applications to backup, the cloud can be an extremely useful tool for any sized business. So while you may have made the decision to finally make the switch, you may still be stuck on which type is right for you, so we're here to help.

Public
In a public cloud, the business application software, hardware, data center and operating system are shared with all of the other users. The public cloud is the least expensive options because of this, but also more vulnerable to potential security and performance risks. The public cloud is a good option for companies looking for a low cost, no maintenance and flexibly system.

Private
In the private cloud, only the provider’s infrastructure is shared. A business’s applications and database are stored in its own virtual layer, allowing for more security. Unlike public cloud, if one user’s applications go down, no others are affected. Due to the higher level of security and control, the private cloud is more expensive than public.

Hybrid
A hybrid cloud is a combination of both public and private clouds. A business can choose to keep different aspects of their business in the environment that makes the most sense. Those decisions of which applications reside where will depend on a company’s existing IT resources, compliance with industry regulations and any future plans.
